01 nov. beeB European project launched to promote innovative training in the beekeeping sector
Since November 2019, the beeB project is underway. This European project, co-funded by the Erasmus + Programme of the European Union, aims to “foster for beekeeping bridges through innovative and participative training”.
The project, led by the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu (PV), Portugal, focus the development of tools that will allow family beekeepers or any other non-professional beekeepers, to acquire skills in this area, by using innovative and adaptive forms of training on ecological and good beekeeping practices.
The project beeB is based on the development of 7 intellectual outputs, 5 training events and 6 multiplier events dedicated to technicians, beekeepers and the general public. Among the outputs, a MOOC Course in beekeeping adaptable to the previous knowledge, interests and needs of the trainees will be developed, as well as a bee health field tool. Also, beeB project intends to stimulate entrepreneurship in the beekeeping sector.
Six partners from six European Countries will carry out this project until the Spring of 2022. In addition to the Portuguese Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, the Estonian University of Life Sciencies, the Norwegian Beekeepers Association, the Cilento Bio-district of Italy and the companies Tera Tehnopolis Ltd of Croatia and Estrategia y Organización S.A. from Spain are involved in this challenge.
The first transnational partnership meeting was held on 22 and 23 November 2019 in Viseu, Portugal and allowed all the partners to meet face-to-face, organize the first tasks of the project and to participate actively in the Beekeeping National Forum.
The beeB project has the support of the Erasmus + Programme of the European Union. Erasmus+ is the EU’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. The aim of Erasmus+ is to contribute to the Europe 2020 strategy for growth, jobs, social equity and inclusion, as well as the aims of ET2020, the EU’s strategic framework for education and training.
